Welcome from the President:
Greetings and welcome to the online home of the Jamaica Lacrosse Association!
In recent years Jamaican athletes and the nation as a whole have benefited from the growing realization that our country is blessed with incredible athletic potential. Our government has been placing an ever increasing focus on sport as a form of national, human and economic development. The Jamaica Lacrosse Association believes that lacrosse is a sport that captures the spirit of the Jamaican buydiazepambest.com people. The game is fast, high tempo, fun, constantly flowing and celebrates creativity. Lacrosse is dubbed “the fastest game on two feet.” Jamaica is home to the fastest people on earth. Lacrosse and the Jamaican people are a perfect match. Our short term goal is to introduce lacrosse as a sport to be played in the high schools, enabling sustainability and the benefit of a pre-existing competition and match infrastructure. As interest in lacrosse grows we want lacrosse to be adapted as part of the curriculum at G.C. Foster College of Physical Education and Sport. From there the game will have the ability to grow with integrity and credibility throughout the island of Jamaica.
Our long-term goal is to compete for Federation of International Lacrosse World Championships, and when lacrosse is added to the Summer Olympics to compete for Gold Medals.
Out of many, One People,
What is Lacrosse?
Jamaica is a member of The Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL). The FIL was established in August 2008 in a merger of both the men’s and women’s international lacrosse associations and is the international governing body for men’s and women’s lacrosse. The ultimate goal of the FIL is to see lacrosse added as an official sport in the Summer Olympics. It currently holds championships every four years in men’s and women’s lacrosse at the adult and U-19 age levels. For more information, visit the FIL’s website here.
